The group of 'American Laser Centers' are the largest providers of laser hair removal in the U.S. In May 2008 the ALC published a hair removal survey which came to the conclusion that American women spend over $10'000 US on laser and other hair removal products and services during their lifetime.

The average American woman will spend more than 58 days removing hair from her bodies during her lifetime. The survey also revealed that women remove unwanted body hair for an average period of 53 years using laser hair removal, shaving, waxing and several depilatory creams that can be found on the market today.

While most of the women reported a rather small monthly spending on shaving, an average of about $16.00 per month, the lifetime investment for females who shave still adds up to an astonishing $10'200 US.

Delapidory cream users are spending only little more than the women who shave to remove thei unwanted hair. Crams and lotions in this case add up to $10,555 in a womans lifetime.

The oldfashioned waxing method is by far the most expensive form of all hair removal techniques. While respondents of the survey reported waxing only one or two times per month, they spend an average of $23'000 US on hair removal during their lifetime.

According to the results of the survey of the American Laser Centers, women can save $7,000 by receiving laser hair removal on the areas of the body they typically shave or save even more money when they are waxing. $20'000 on savings can easily buy a decent car here!
